Minister for Health and NHS Leaders Visit La Retraite
La Retraite Welcomes Minister for Health and NHS Leaders to Celebrate T Level Health Students
On 16th January, we were delighted to welcome Karin Smyth, Minister of State for Health and Social Care, and Duncan Burton, Chief Nursing Officer for NHS England, to La Retraite. Their visit provided an opportunity to meet our T Level Health students and celebrate the vital contributions they are making to the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Crystal Akass, Jo Young, and Bill Davies from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, who have provided invaluable industry placements for our students. Additionally, we appreciate the support of Stephanie Crane from the Association of Colleges in helping schools and colleges introduce these essential qualifications.
During the visit, Duncan Burton joined some of our Sixth Form students in the podcast booth for a discussion on nursing, midwifery, and careers in the NHS. This insightful conversation is now available on Beyond the Bell – La Retraite on Spotify.
