Ghana Trip - Global Voices, Shared Harmony

In July, our Tour Choir students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a 10-day cultural exchange to Ghana, made possible through funding awarded by the Turing Scheme. During their visit, students travelled to three partner schools: Swedru Senior High School (SWESCO), Mfantsipim School, and Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast.

Through a series of concerts, our students shared their love of music while building meaningful connections with students and staff. Alongside their performances, they explored Ghana’s rich history through visits to Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, experienced the natural beauty of Kakum National Park, took part in traditional batik-making, and spent time connecting with local communities.

Throughout the journey, students demonstrated incredible enthusiasm, respect and maturity, representing La Retraite with pride. The trip was a wonderful celebration of culture, friendship and the power of music to bring people together, creating unforgettable memories across continents.
