Celebrating British Flowers Week 2023
Students attended the Garden Museum for the second time this year, by invite to celebrate British Flowers Week 2023. Students were amazed at the wonderful flower exhibition celebrating British grown flowers, sustainable floristry and the diverse talent in floral design found across the country. Students took part in a cooking session led by Ceri, the Garden Museum Food Educator this involved, cooking risotto, baking garlic bread, and making chocolate cupcakes all whilst incorporating edible flowers into the ingredients. The Queen visited the Garden Museum to open the exhibition, and came into the cooking session and asked students questions about the activity they were doing, even suggesting that she hoped to see them on future episodes of Masterchef. Students enjoyed the day and can't wait to visit the museum again!
