Catching up with the La Retraite 6
“I am currently in Year 12 at the La Retraite 6, and studying Politics, English Literature and History. I chose to stay on to the Sixth Form because I had strong relationships with my teachers and felt suitably comfortable and challenged in the environment and selected the subjects because I am passionate about writing, and I want to develop my knowledge about the world and our history, I find it fascinating. I hope to study Politics and International Relations at either Warwick of Queen Mary’s university, and believe I am in good stead for this as my teachers, subjects and the La Retraite 6 environment have provided me with a strong foundation to build on”.

“I am studying T Level Childcare and Education, because I am passionate about working with, and supporting young children. I knew that choosing this course would help me gain the knowledge and skills I needed to work confidently in a nursery setting. I plan to read Psychology at University after completing my T Level; and I feel that choosing this course has helped me not only realise this goal but supported my applications as I gained insights and experience whilst studying through my placement – over 420 hours! So far, the highlight of the course was learning about the different theories of how-to best support children’s learning and the brain – but there is still so much to come!”
