Super Scholars
Posted on: 8th May 2022This term, our Super Scholars started the term focusing on being curious and asking questions, really encouraging students to expand their thinking outside the confines of their GCSE or A level syllabus.
Focus then shifted towards how we find answers to questions, looking at different methods of research and what challenges we have when searching for answers. For the last few weeks of term, students are applying these ideas to unseen and challenging content, beginning to mimic some of the small group teaching that occurs at universities such as Oxford and Cambridge. Students have since been split into two separate groups: one focused more on science, and the other focused more on humanities. Discussion topics have included: dreams and sleep science; representation in politics; the psychology behind procrastination; the nature of consciousness; and plenty more.
