Preparing for the Future

Posted on: 11th Mar 2022

The BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) is an aptitude test used as part of the admissions process for Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Dentistry in some universities in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Spain, Malaysia, Thailand, Hungary, Croatia and the Netherlands. In early March, a member of The Medic Portal introduced 15 students across Year 11 and 12 to what the BMAT is, and how aspiring medic students can ensure they are fully prepared for the exam.

The tutor took students through the test format, how each section is marked, common mistakes, top tips, practice questions and how to revise, enabling students with the key skills needed to succeed.

“I enjoyed the day very much; it was very engaging and throughout the event I was able to acquire many new things. As well as that, I was also able to develop transferable skills that I can use when pursuing my career in medicine. Overall, the learning day was extremely intriguing, and I am looking forward to the UCAT learning day this Friday."
