In Creative Arts this term, students have been focusing on the British Values of Mutual Respect and Individual Liberty. For example, in Year 9, students have explored Representation in Art. This covers gender, body image and shape and racism and studied the work of Tatyana Fazlalizadeh who created the 'Stop Telling Women to Smile' series, which depicts harassment of women in the street to include topics such as sexism and racism.

At La Retraite, we teach students the importance of spreading a positive and inclusive message and this has been actioned in their work, by creating T-shirts, paintings, collages and 3D models.
